Sea Bears Roll Past Mamba 107-96 Behind Historic Teddy Allen Performance

Teddy Allen put on one of the most memorable individual performances in Winnipeg Sea Bears history Tuesday night at Canada Life Centre, pouring in 40 points to lead the Sea Bears to a 107-96 victory over the Saskatoon Mamba.
Allen scorched the nets in the first half, racking up 31 points before the break — tying the franchise record for points in a single half. He finished two points shy of the franchise single-game scoring record of 42, adding 11 rebounds for a dominant double-double. The performance also marked his 15th career double-double in the CEBL, making him just the sixth player in league history to reach that milestone.
The supporting cast rose to the occasion as well. Trey McGowens recorded a double-double of his own with 19 points and 12 assists, controlling the pace in the second half as Winnipeg pulled away. Isiah Osborne added 16, and Trevon Scott delivered a standout double-double off the bench with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Emmanuel Akot, back in front of his hometown crowd for the first time since a mid-May injury, chipped in 11 points and played his usual all-around role on both ends of the floor.
"Obviously we had a really good offensive rhythm going in the first half," said Head Coach Mike Raimbault. "I do like the way that we came in the second half and controlled the tempo, and at the pivotal times, we did get stops and created some easy buckets going the other way."
McGowens credited the team's spacing and defensive intensity for the win. "The pace was a little bit better, we got stops, and we were able to get out in transition and play fast. Defense is something that's really important, you can always control your defense."
Akot summed up what it's like to play alongside Allen on a night like this. "We call him Teddy Buckets for a reason. He draws so much attention, teams double team him or play heavy help defense, so it makes our job easy. He finds us and we appreciate it."
Winnipeg remains undefeated at home and carries plenty of momentum into their next challenge.
