Sea Bears Look to Conquer Calgary on the Road in Back-to-Back Finale
Fresh off a dominant home performance, Winnipeg heads to Calgary for the second leg of a back-to-back, and a Surge team with nothing left to lose.

The Winnipeg Sea Bears (5-4) make the trip to Calgary to face a Surge that is winless on the season at 0-9 and desperate to end the skid. Don't let the record fool you. Calgary has been playing for their first win all season, and there is no hungrier team in the CEBL right now than one staring down the possibility of 0-10.
Winnipeg comes in riding the momentum of a convincing 92-72 victory over the Surge Friday night at Canada Life Centre. Isiah Osborne was the story, finishing with 24 points, five steals, and the game-winning basket in Target Score time on a debut that had Head Coach Mike Raimbault calling him a true professional. Teddy Allen was equally relentless with 25 points, and the Sea Bears piled up 19 fast break points off a suffocating defensive effort.
The challenge now is doing it again, on the road, on a back-to-back, against a team with renewed motivation and a crowd with energy. Winnipeg's road struggles have been a defining storyline of the season, all four of their losses have come away from Canada Life Centre, and their 2-4 road record tells the real story of a team that has yet to crack the code outside of Winnipeg.
Forward D.J. Burns brings defensive presence and a relentless motor that fits exactly what Head Coach Mike Raimbault has been building in Winnipeg. Raimbault has made defensive aggression the identity of this team all season, and Burns is the kind of player who thrives in that system. Calgary will push back, but this is a Sea Bears group that has shown it can answer.
