Due to incredible fan demand, the Sea Bears will open the 300-level of Canada Life Centre for their playoff game and last home game of the summer

WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Sea Bears of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Wednesday that, due to incredible demand by fans, the team will open the upper bowl of Canada Life Centre for the team's playoff game this Friday, August 4. The game will feature two performances from Canadian music great, Kardinal Offishall, and mark the last time fans have the chance to catch their Sea Bears at home this summer.

The Sea Bears already own the records for six most attended games in CEBL history in just their first season after establishing a new all-time high of 8,230 on Saturday, July 29. Today's announcement sets the stage for an even bigger record. Before the Sea Bears entered the league, the CEBL record was 4,404, set by the Vancouver Bandits in 2022.

"We’re enormously grateful to our fans who continue to support the team," said Sea Bears owner and chairman David Asper. "Its been a humbling experience so let’s throw open the doors and have one last celebration, together. Go Sea Bears!”

After finishing second in the Western Conference after the regular season, the Sea Bears are set to play in the team's first-ever playoff game when they host the third-ranked Edmonton Stingers on Friday. The winner of the game will fly to Calgary to take on the Surge for the CEBL quarterfinals Sunday at 8 p.m. CT. The semifinals and championship final are slated for August 11 to 13 in Langley, BC. The Vancouver Bandits, as the hosts of Championship Weekend, earn an automatic bye to the western semifinals.
