Sea Bears Look to Get Back on Track in Final Regular Season Home Game Friday

July 30, 2026

The Winnipeg Sea Bears host the Ottawa BlackJacks at Canada Life Centre on Friday, July 31 in their final regular season home game of the year. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. CT.

Two straight losses have left the Sea Bears (13-9) with something to prove heading into the final home game of the regular season. After falling to Brampton 88-86 in heartbreaking target score time on Saturday, Winnipeg has had a couple days to reset, regroup, and get back to work. According to Coach Mike Raimbault, the time has been well spent.

"The last two days in practice, we're cleaning up as many small details as we can," Raimbault said. "Our main mission from the start of training camp has been to play our best basketball at the most important time. We still feel like we haven't shown what our most complete game would look like, so we're on the hunt to search that out daily."

The theme running through the room is urgency. The Sea Bears know they have a cushion in the standings, but Raimbault has been direct with his group about what this stretch of the schedule demands. "Trying to find the same level of urgency and desperation that it's going to take to be successful in the postseason has been a work in progress," he said. "We have to definitely be organized and ready to bring that same level."

Ottawa (9-13) comes to town fighting for their playoff lives, which makes them a dangerous opponent. Raimbault isn't taking that lightly. "We expect them to fight for their lives essentially on Friday," he said, "and that's very much what we can expect in the postseason."

On the offensive end, three-point shooting has been a struggle over the last two games, but Raimbault isn't panicking. "We have some key people that missed some shots, and we have all the confidence in the world that they're going to be ready to shoot those shots come Friday night." Xavier Moon's emergence has also added another dimension, with Raimbault noting the team knows "he's very, very capable of taking games over."
