Sea Bears Chip Away but Fall Short in 93-85 Loss to Calgary
D.J. Burns delivered again off the bench with 16 points and 9 rebounds, but Jeremiah Tilmon Jr. fouling out in the fourth quarter and a dominant Calgary bench proved to be too much, as the Surge handed Winnipeg its second consecutive loss, 93-85 at Calgary.

For the second time this season, the Calgary Surge figured Winnipeg out. The Sea Bears fell 93-85 on Friday night in Calgary, dropping their second straight to the Surge and evening up the season series at two wins apiece. Calgary led by as many as 16 and despite a determined effort from Winnipeg in Target Time, the Sea Bears couldn't close the gap. "Calgary's playing well," said head coach Mike Raimbault. "They played better than us the last couple of nights. We were a possession away at our place and you got to give them a lot of credit for the way that they're playing right now."
Tilmon Jr. had 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting before fouling out in the fourth quarter, leaving Winnipeg without one of its most reliable frontcourt pieces down the stretch. Teddy Allen led Winnipeg with 18 points. Trey McGowens was efficient with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting, and D.J. Burns continued his strong stretch off the bench with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and a perfect 6-for-6 performance at the free throw line. Winnipeg's bench contributed 26 points, but Calgary's reserves answered with 40, a difference that proved decisive.
The Surge were led by Sean Miller-Moore's 20 points and got balanced contributions across the board. Calgary scored 50 points in the paint and turned their 20 points off turnovers into a comfortable cushion that Winnipeg could never fully erase. The Sea Bears chipped away during Target Time but ran out of time.
Winnipeg remains first in the Western Conference with five games to play in the regular season.
