CEBL Finals: The Hunt Ends Here.

Saturday afternoon at Canada Life Centre, 2:30pm, the Sea Bears host Brampton in a winner-take-all CEBL Championship Game, the biggest single game in franchise history. After Game One in Brampton was called off due to unsafe floor conditions, the league adjusted the format to a single-game championship.

Over 10,000 tickets have already been sold. The lower bowl is gone. The upper bowl is open. And Sea Bears Nation has a chance to break the CEBL's all-time attendance record of 12,327, set in Calgary in 2024. If we do, one lucky fan in The Den walks out with $1,000 cash, a signed jersey, and two 2027 season tickets.

Brampton went 2-0 against Winnipeg in the regular season and holds a 4-3 all-time edge in the head-to-head matchup. Both losses were tight, a 4-point defeat on May 25 and a 2-point loss on July 25. They are not to be taken lightly. But this series is far from settled.

Head coach Mike Raimbault preached depth from day one, and this team has delivered at every turn. "We've prepared for every game like it's a playoff game from the start of the season," he said. "A lot of people have stepped up into bigger opportunities and produced, and we know we're going to need the same tomorrow. Every possession is pivotal when you're counting the chips at the end of the game."

Xavier Moon, a late-season addition who has been a playoff force from the moment he arrived, wasn't rattled by the format change. "I prefer the one game actually," he said. On what Saturday afternoon means to him: "This is what I came to Winnipeg for. This is what I prepare for. This is what all the early mornings are for."

Sean East II and Trentyn Flowers have been hot on offense for Brampton, and Xavier Moon knows exactly what it takes to slow them down. "Stay connected on defense. Those are talented guys. We know they're gonna run a lot of their offense through those guys, so we got to make sure we're on the string, and then get out and make them guard us."

Local product Simon Hildebrandt knows what kind of afternoon it's going to be. "I know we're close to that attendance record, so I know it's going to be an electric night."

This team has overcome everything thrown at it this season. Saturday afternoon, Sea Bears Nation gets to be part of what comes next.

The party starts before tip-off. The MNP pre-game party opens in True North Square at 12:30 p.m. giving fans a place to gather ahead of the doors opening at 1:30 p.m.

Fans in attendance will receive a rally towel waiting on their seat when they enter Canada Life Centre. Vocalist and tribute artist TJ Pepper performs at halftime.
