JOB SHADOW PROGRAM
Join us for Youth in Sport Night Wednesday, June 11!
A special experience designed to inspire and engage the next generation of sports industry professionals! This initiative offers two exciting opportunities for youth to get involved:
✔ Ages 13 & Under – Game Day Experience (June 11)
Select young fans for the Winnipeg Sea Bears Youth In Sport Night will get an exciting behind-the-scenes experience on game day! Areas of participation are:
- PA Announcer, sit front row at the scorer’s table and help deliver live, arena-wide announcements.
- Promo Team, help pump up the crowd and lead fan engagement activities throughout the game.
-Game Day Hosts, assist with in-game activations and special segments for the whole arena to enjoy. Get ready for an unforgettable night in the spotlight!
How to Apply:
- Must be available June 11 from 4:30PM - 9:00PM.
- Submit a video answering why you want to be part of the Youth in Sport Night. Submission videos can be sent to info@seabears.ca if submission is to large through the form below.
✔ Ages 14–18 – Career Exploration Experience (June 10 & 11)
This two-day experience is perfect for youth interested in a future in sports. On June 10, selected participants will join us at Sea Bears Front Office (Sport Manitoba Building, 145 Pacific Ave) to explore how our team operates behind the scenes. They’ll rotate through marketing, ticketing, sponsorship, basketball operations departments, and more. We’ll also cover interview tips and resume prep - plus, lunch is on us! On game day (June 11), they’ll step into the action to gain hands-on experience working alongside our team.
Here are the different departments to apply for:
🐻❄️ Marketing Department: Four students will be with our marketing crew. Two will be stationed at the media table, while one will capture game-day photography and another will film exciting video content. Perfect for those passionate about digital media and storytelling.
🐻❄️ Sponsorship Team: Two students will take to the press box to see how in-game sponsorship activations come to life - from signage to on-court promotions.
🐻❄️ Basketball Operations: For those interested in team logistics, this role places one student with our operations staff learning the in's and out's of what happens pre game. Then be courtside during the action - ready to hustle out and clear the court after a monster dunk or a hard drive in the paint. It's a front-row seat and a crucial role in keeping the game moving.
🐻❄️Ticketing: Two students will be with our ticketing department, assisting at the booth pre-game and then enjoying the game with the team while learning more about fan services, game day flow and customer service.
How to Apply:
- Must be available June 10 from 9:30AM - 1:00PM (Sport Manitoba Building) *Need a written note from teacher / school to attend.
- Must be available June 11 for Game Day from 4:30PM - 9:00PM (Canada Life Centre)
