Winnipeg Sea Bears Named Grand Marshal of the 2026 Manitoba Hydro Santa Claus Parade
This holiday season, Winnipeg’s championship basketball team joins the city’s favourite holiday tradition. The Winnipeg Sea Bears, 2026 Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) Champions, have been named Grand Marshal of the 2026 Manitoba Hydro Santa Claus Parade.
The Sea Bears won the CEBL Championship at home this summer, in front of the Winnipeg fans who cheered them on all season, including a CEBL record 12,519 fans for the championship final on August 15th at Canada Life Centre. Now they’ll lead the parade through downtown, giving fans of all ages a chance to celebrate the title together.
Since tipping off in 2023, the Sea Bears have built their team around Winnipeg. Off the court, the team shows up for kids across Winnipeg, gets involved in grassroots basketball, runs camps, a partnership with Buckets & Borders that has refurbished nine outdoor basketball courts and brings families together at every home game at Canada Life Centre. For the Sea Bears, community and family are at the heart of everything they do, which makes the Santa Claus Parade a natural fit.
