Travel Manitoba & Winnipeg Sea Bears partner to give away all-inclusive trip to Churchill

WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Sea Bears of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Thursday that they will partner with Travel Manitoba to offer a new “See the Bears” in-game contest during the 2024 season. The contest will give fans the chance to win a trip to see the team’s namesake polar bears as part of an all-inclusive round-trip tour of Churchill, Man.

 

Accommodating up to four people and valued at over $4,000 per guest, the prize package includes:

 

·      A round-trip flight from Winnipeg to Churchill, with breakfast on board

·      Two-night accommodations at Polar Inn and Suites

·      A full-day Tundra Buggy Excursion

·      A full-day Coastal Roads & Hidden Trails Wildlife tour

·      A Nights Under Lights yurt experience and cultural presentation

·      Transportation to and from Churchill Airport

·      Meals in Churchill

 

To enter, fans will scan an in-game QR code to play the “Where’s Churchill?” picture game featuring Winnipeg’s beloved polar bear mascot displayed on the jumbotron in mystery locations across Canada. After submitting their guesses, fans will be able to virtually enter their contest ballot. The contest will run throughout the summer, with one opportunity to enter at each Sea Bears home game. Entries will be limited to one per person per game.

 

The contest winners will be drawn following the 2024 season, with the round trip to take place from Nov. 3 to 5, 2024 with Heartland International Travel and Tours

 

The Sea Bears encourage fans to enter for a chance to visit the magnificent animals after which the team was named.

 

Travel to and from Winnipeg’s Kivaliq Air Charter Terminal, alcoholic beverages, gratuities, insurance or expenses of a personal nature are not included in the package. The Winnipeg Sea Bears joined the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) as an expansion franchise in 2023. The city's only professional basketball team plays out of Canada Life Centre from May to August in a 20-game regular season schedule. A league created by Canadians for Canadians with a mission to develop Canadian players, coaches, sports executives, and referees, the CEBL boasts the highest percentage of Canadian players of any pro league in the country with 75% of its rosters being Canadian and a record 10 players with NBA experience in 2024. Players also bring experience from the NBA G League, top international pro leagues, the Canadian National team program, NCAA programs, as well as U SPORTS and CCAA.
