PURPOSE

1. Award a team that represents the Winnipeg Sea Bears by being tough, tenacious and unwavering.
2. Award a team that has achieved success on the court.
3. Acknowledge the efforts of those who have inspired and helped others in their community.

ELIGIBILITY

This award is open to all basketball teams in Manitoba. This includes youth, junior high, high school, club, university, college and senior teams. The same team cannot win twice within one season. The goal is to recognize a team that has gone above and beyond in the community and on the court.

CRITERIA

Community Involvement

1. The winning team has given back to the community or inspired others in some aspect such as a teammate overcoming an obstacle or inspiring those around them, volunteering or raising money for a cause, or representing the true values of togetherness.
2. The winning team has shown upmost sportsmanship in all areas of the game.

On-court achievements

1. The Sea Bears Team of the Month has shown success on the court, such as a winning record, a statistical streak, or overcoming a challenge.
