Sea Bears Move to 7- 4, Tie Vancouver for First in the West with Dominant 114-81 Win

June 18, 2026

Winnipeg made the loudest possible statement on Youth in Sport Night, overwhelming the West-leading Vancouver Bandits 114-81 at Canada Life Centre to pull level with Vancouver atop the Western Conference.

The Winnipeg Sea Bears (7-4) never let up on Vancouver from start to finish. The Bandits were missing Tyrese Samuel and Mitch Creek, but Head Coach Mike Raimbault wasn't interested in caveats. "I was definitely happy with our effort and our connectivity," Raimbault said. "Tonight there was very little letdown when we potentially could have let off the gas, and I thought we continued to try to push to build the lead."

Teddy Allen led the way with 36 points on 14-of-23 shooting to go with 12 rebounds, while Isiah Osborne continued his hot stretch since joining the club with 23 points. But the headline performance came off the bench, where Trevon Scott — who started NBA games for the Brooklyn Nets just months ago, exploded for 24 points on a scorching 10-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three, and delivered the game-winning basket to close it out. "It was just a good game for me," Scott said. "The ball was just finding me, and I was just in the right spots. I put in a lot of work every single day, and that work showed."

Allen, who matched up much of the night with former college rival Jaelen House, kept his approach simple. "I just took the same approach I do every game," Allen said. "Luckily the team was finding me, and some threes were falling." Allen credited the locker room culture for the team's consistency: "I think it's a testament to our coach and coaching staff, the things that they preach, and the way they treat us like grown men. The onus is on us, and I feel like that's boded well for this group."

Despite the offensive fireworks, Winnipeg held Vancouver to just 81 points, even with Jaelen House pouring in 42. "We just talked about trying to not take any possessions off," Raimbault said. "I can't say enough about the guys they were missing, but in terms of our commitment to trying to guard; House still had a massive night and caused a lot of problems for us, and I thought we did a pretty good job of moving onto the next possession and playing as a five-man group."

Scott pointed to the team's defensive identity as the engine behind nights like this one. "We're a super high-powered offensive team, so we double down a lot on defense; guarding the ball, rebounding, being aggressive, being physical," he said. "We mesh that together in games like this, and it was just great. A gritty basketball team."

With the win, Winnipeg moves to 7-4 and into a share of first place in the West heading into a quick turnaround.
