Sea Bears Head to Brampton with a Point to Prove

Fresh off a dominant 97-71 win over the defending CEBL champions, the Winnipeg Sea Bears pack their bags and head east to take on the Brampton Honey Badgers.
The Sea Bears (3-1) arrive in Brampton fresh off taking down the 2025 CEBL champions. After a tough 103-101 road loss to Scarborough in game 3, Winnipeg answered with a dominant 97-71 victory over Niagara at Canada Life Centre on Friday. Now comes the next test: a Brampton squad that many are calling the early favourites out of the East.
The Honey Badgers are built to score. Sean East II has been everything advertised this season, and head coach Mike Raimbault knows his group will need to bring defensive focus for a full 40 minutes.
"Every possession is important, and we can't afford to have any lapses," Raimbault said. "Defensively is where we're trying to trademark or put a stamp on how we want to play, that's super important for us."
Trey McGowens is keeping it simple on what it'll take to slow Brampton down. "Just making it as tough as possible," he said. "Rebounding, playing in transition, getting stops and playing with pace. Just keep building on what we've been working on."
The head-to-head history is close. Winnipeg is 3-2 all-time against Brampton, going 1-1 in the 2025 season, winning at home but dropping the road matchup. The Sea Bears will be looking to flip that script on Monday.
