117 Points. A Franchise Record. The Road Losing Streak Is Over.

Teddy Allen leads a complete team effort as Winnipeg ends a three-game road losing streak.

The Winnipeg Sea Bears didn't just end their road losing streak Thursday night, they did it by breaking the franchise record for points scored in a single game, pouring in 117 points and surpassing the previous mark of 111 set on July 23, 2024.

Winnipeg had the winning hand over the Ottawa BlackJacks 117-88, shooting 52% from the field and never letting Ottawa back into the game after jumping out to a 28-18 lead after the first quarter.

Teddy Allen was the engine, delivering a double-double with 32 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists on 11-of-21 shooting in 37 minutes. His performance came despite the Sea Bears losing Emmanuel Akot just 2:36 into the game to an injury, followed by Kyler Filewich just under five minutes into his night. Two Canadians going down in the same game adding an extra layer of adversity to the evening.

"Teddy was just being Teddy tonight. That's what he does. He scores the ball at such a crazy level. And I think we made an emphasis throughout this week to make sure to get him the ball in places where he can be successful. I think we really showed that tonight," said Simon Hildebrandt.

The team didn't flinch. Trey McGowens stepped up with 19 points and six assists. Hildebrandt was efficient from everywhere, scoring 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting including three triples. Armani Chaney added 14 points, hitting four of six from deep, and Jeremiah Tilmon Jr. contributed 13 on 5-of-6 shooting.

"We had a ton of assists and kind of limited the turnovers tonight, and that's always going to be a recipe for success," Hildebrandt added.

It was also the first Sea Bears action for Trevon Scott, who made his Sea Bears season debut after signing with the club on May 30. The NBA-experienced forward logged 24 minutes and scored 10 points.

For Ottawa, Matthew Cleveland put up a fight with 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting, but the BlackJacks had no answer for Winnipeg's night.

"I liked our resilience and our connectivity. I thought there were lots of points where we probably could have hung our heads for a stretch, but we managed to stick together. We had lots of guys step up in Emmanuel's absence and make plays, and it was a total team effort," said Head Coach Mike Raimbault.
